After the growing success of the past editions, the cultural project "A Thousand and One Nights in the Conca Valley", now in its sixth edition, returns in 2025 with a calendar full of immersive appointments between art, narration and discovery.

The event, scheduled from 7 August to 2 September, will once again involve the most charming villages of the Unione della Valconca in open-air performances with free admission, designed to enhance the cultural and natural heritage of the area. An initiative that over time has been able to build a deep bond with the public and with the places that host it, becoming one of the most identifying artistic experiences of the Romagna summer.

An artistic and sensorial journey that crosses the nine municipalities of the Union of the Conca Valley with a total of 18 free performances, set at the most suggestive times of the day: at dawn and dusk. An opportunity to rediscover the territory's most fascinating places through the power of theatre, interwoven this year with an exceptional theme: Giovanni Boccaccio's "Decameron", on the occasion of the anniversary of the 650th anniversary of the author's death.

Inspired by the themes, atmospheres and narrative structure of Boccaccio's work, the review will propose six original theatrical episodes, which will be repeated in 18 appointments, four of which will be in the form of a "marathon", with two performances on the same day. The programme, which will be announced in the next few days together with the official locations, will take place in unique settings: parish churches, walled villages, panoramic terraces, historical centres, courtyards and natural spaces that will be the setting for a show capable of merging narration, live music, dance, singing and scenic movement, in a formula that speaks to all generations.

The project is devised, directed and produced by Città Teatro, and is promoted and financed by the Unione dei Comuni della Valconca, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Visit Romagna, with the aim of enhancing the cultural, landscape and human heritage of the hinterland, creating opportunities for meeting, knowledge and wonder.

Gemmano, Mondaino, Montefiore Conca, Montegridolfo, Montescudo-Montecolombo, Morciano di Romagna, Saludecio, San Clemente, and Sassofeltrio will once again be the protagonists of a theatrical itinerary that invites visitors to travel and discover, transforming the entire Conca Valley into a diffuse stage under the summer sky.

Each episode will be written and performed by the cast of Città Teatro, with dramaturgy by Davide Schinaia, costumes by Paul Mochrie, communication by Giulia Airaudo and graphics by Stefano Savioli. This collective work has characterised the artistic identity of "A Thousand and One Nights in the Conca Valley" for years and makes it a virtuous example of quality popular theatre, capable of combining depth and accessibility.
